Repair of brake systems

A modern car is equipped with a host of systems for driving comfort and safety. One of the most powerful systems is the braking system. It is very important to understand the need to maintain the brake system in good condition. The safety of cars with high speeds is largely determined by the efficiency and safety of the brakes.

Symptoms of a brake system malfunction:

 Increased stroke of the brake pedal;

 Jamming of a brake pedal;

 Hard pedal;

 Leakage of brake fluid;

 The parking brake does not keep the vehicle on a slope

 Car sideways during braking;

 Pad linings are heated when moving;

 Squeak when braking;

 Uneven pad wear;

 Steering wheel beating when braking.

- How often do you need to inspect the brakes?

Inspection of the brake system is required at least 2 times a year. It is advisable to conduct a routine inspection during seasonal wheel changes. And, of course, it is worth contacting the service if there are noises or other problems during braking.

Regular attention requires brake fluid. A decrease in the fluid level in the tank is a sign of wear on the pads and discs, or may indicate other problems in the system. In addition to its main function, brake fluid also protects system parts from corrosion, therefore, it requires periodic replacement. The brake fluid replacement interval is indicated in the operating instructions of the car or motorcycle and usually ranges from 1 to 3 years, depending on its type. However, an objective assessment of the properties of the brake fluid will help measure the boiling point. This can only be done using a special tester.
